    Job Summary:

    The Practice Administrator provides oversight of the administrative, fiscal, and personnel functions of the facility to ensure patient care is provided in an efficient and productive manner.  They are responsible for ensuring the practice remains fiscally viable and maintains an excellent relationship within the community.  The Practice Administrator directs the overall operation of the facility and supports recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of staff within the facility. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provides leadership in day-to-day facility operations.
    • Works closely with practice providers surgical center administrators to ensure schedule maximization and overall practice efficiencies. 
    • Assists in the development, planning and implementation of clinic business plans.
    • Responsible for the creation and management of department metrics and business initiatives.
    • In conjunction with the leadership team, recommends, develops and implements improvements for the practice.
    • Communicates current trends, problems, and medical activities to the leadership team to help facilitate policy making.
    • Establish and oversee clinic goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
    • Responsible for overall business and operation management of the clinic in partnership with the leadership team.
    • Ensure all services are provided in a professional manner; promoting patient satisfaction and manageable patient flow.
    • Resolves patient complaints and ensures appropriate and timely follow up.
    • Responsible for staff recruitment, supervision, performance management and disciplinary action.
    • Oversee maintenance of clinic property, computer systems and software.
    • Assist in the oversight of credentialing process for providers. 

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to organize workload and manage time effectively.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.
    • Ability to collaborate and develop partnerships across departments and with other organizations.
    • Ability to build a collaborative working environment and build staff morale.
    • Advanced computer skills
    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate staff.
    • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly and to protect the confidentiality of patient, employee and business information.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration, business administration or related field required.
    • Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a free-standing medical practice environment preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Sitting and/or being stationary at a desk frequently
    • Ability to move around a medical center/healthcare environment periodically.
    • Consistently uses computers and relays information verbally and through email, messaging, and phone.
    • Must communicate with others and exchange information frequently and on an on-going basis.
    • Must be able to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
