Kitchen Manager manages the daily operations of the kitchen, which may include but not limited to: accounting, finance, staff working schedule, inventory control and equipment supplies. Responsible for employees' training. Being a Kitchen Manager oversees other departments that contribute to the operations of the kitchen. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Kitchen Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Kitchen Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a Kitchen Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Overview

    Green Sage Cafe is looking for a General Manager. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking individual who is passionate about serving delicious, healthy meals to our customers and can help lead our staff in doing so. Shifts are between the hours of 7am-5pm so no late nights required. GMs can expect to work 45-50 hours per week.


    Responsibilities


    While overseeing the daily operations of the cafe, the Cafe Leads responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing organization policies and procedures.
    • Provide exceptional service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
    • Train FOH staff on all product knowledge, procedures, and recipes to ensure proper food/drink quality.
    • Attend weekly manager meetings. Be prepared to discuss financials, employee performance, goals, marketing, and any other issues.
    • Inform the District Manager of any product shortages or quality issues.
    • Ensure FOH prep lists are being completed in a timely manner.
    • Maintain FOH cleaning lists and ensure daily tasks are being completed by FOH employees.
    • Maintain FOH equipment cleanliness and functionality. Communicate any issues to the General Manager.
    • Implement sales contests for FOH employees, set goals with the District Manager, and post results for the team to see.
    • Create schedules that meet labor cost goals.
    • Manage cost, revenue and prime goals.
    • Perform opening and closing duties.
    • Ensure security of company assets.
    • Handle cash reconciliation.

    Requirements

    • Must be Manager ServSafe Certified (or the ability to get Certification in a timely manner)
    • Exhibit Leadership and Foster Teamwork
    • Show Initiative and Demonstrate Adequate Communication Skills
    • Adept in using software programs like Excel and willingness to learn new software programs for scheduling and costing
    • Comfortable with Cash-Handling
    • Ability to work on your feet for six hours or more a day
