    Job Summary:

    Responsible for managing a World of Beer operation, the ability to meet or exceed established financial goals, maintain standards and the ongoing development of World of Beer Staff.

    Reporting Relationship:

    General Manager, Regional Manager

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Primary focus should be put on the acceptable attainment of building sales and exceeding all forecasted financial goals, the development and growth of World of Beer staff, the ongoing established World of Beer quality of operations and exceptional shift to shift execution.

    Qualifications and Job Requirements:

    • 1-2 years of previous hospitality/food service industry key/management experience that resulted in consistent, positive sales and profitability growth is preferred.
    • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
    • A history of only the highest levels of restaurant cleanliness, food safety, employee & customer safety, and sanitation standards are always upheld.
    • Limited Ability to travel and stay overnight as needed for corporate meetings or functions.
    • Ability to perform all other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
    • Operate a World of Beer as if “you own it”. Ensure consistent, superior execution of all operational standards.
    • Understand all job functions within a bar well enough to train a new WOB*Star on that station.
    • Maintain on-going knowledge of spec/standard of every station within a Bar to the level that you could understand when a standard is being followed.
    • A Food Safety and Alcohol Awareness Certification is required within 30 days of being hired, as required by state law.
    • Exemplify the WOB Way always.

    Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, a WOB Manager is regularly required to talk, hear and see. This position includes the ability to stand for periods of time up to 10 - 12 hours in a shift and have the ability to be able to taste, smell, stoop, bend, stretch, kneel reach, carry, push and lift up to 50 pounds without restriction. Ability to verbally communicate with all employees, customers and phone callers in English.

    Duties/Requirements for Managers Technical Skills

    Relationship Skills

    • Thoroughly communicate all pertinent information (corporate directives, relevant emails, voicemails, etc.) to staff.
    • On-going, thorough communication with the GM/Regional Manager (written/verbal) concerning all significant issues, as requested or as they occur.
    • Check and act on all email and voicemail communication every day. Our standard is a reply within 24 hours.
    • Attend a weekly manager meeting/directional
    • Ensure that you prioritize your work with management duties as their primary job, having the authority to hire and fire or make recommendations regarding decisions affecting the employment status of others; regularly exercise a high degree of independent judgment in your work; never devote more than 40% of time worked to non-management functions. If, in  general, more than 40% of time worked by any manager is done so performing non­management functions. Report to GM if there is an issue.
    • Ensure adequate staffing and manpower planning; oversee and interact with staffing pars, interviewing, training and development, while maintaining an on-going focus on labor cost effectiveness. Ensure acceptable staffing pars. Constant focus on labor cost effectiveness and overtime without affecting service standards.
    • On-going training & development, support, counsel, advice and assistance to all staff members. Ensure team knowledge and focus on the current company hot buttons and directives. Train all WOB*Stars 100% in adherence with WOB Training Programs.
    • Provide all staff members with positive and negative feedback and take immediate and appropriate action, to include, discipline or recognition (follow WOBF discipline guidelines). The ability to challenge and redirect poor performers.
    • Always provide a favorable image of World of Beer to promote its aims and objectives and enhance public recognition, whether on or off duty. Managers may not fraternize, be personally involved with or socialize with any hourly employee, regardless of being on or off duty.
    • In compliance with all Labor laws and WOB programs (Safety, Security, Food safety, Alcohol Awareness, etc.).

    Business Savvy Skills

    • Ongoing focus on increasing comp store sales and profitability. Maintains controls, awareness, and disciplines of all cost categories. Accurate financial planning & reporting / doing inventories on time and accurately, managing to establish budgets, submitting P&L’s timely, etc.
    • Perform at least one food safety inspection every day that they work. Assurance that at least two thorough food safety inspections are performed every day.
    • Ensure that only the highest levels of Bar cleanliness, food safety and sanitation standards are always upheld (no cigarette butts out front, no wet floors in BOH, etc.).
    • Never sign or verbalize any type of agreement or contract without first receiving written corporate approval by a Regional Manager or above.
    • Repair and replace any broken equipment within 24 Hours with GM/RM approval.
    • Purchase spec products accurately. No 86ing of food or beverage items. All food specs are followed and only contracted food products are utilized. No purchasing of non-spec food or beverage items without GM/RM approval. No new Food, Beer, Liquor or wine products without approval.
    • Be punctual with all required or assigned reporting responsibilities.
    • Ensure that the Bar is always in compliance with prevailing federal and local laws and WOB programs (Labor, Safety, Non-harassment, Security, Food safety, Alcohol Awareness, etc).
    • Ensure customer or employee satisfaction and prompt problem resolution, as needed, for any volatile situation or any social media or email complaint received. Ability to immediately address and resolve.
    • Perform Product Manager functions as necessary in location.
    • Follow safety practices/controls. Only full-time managers has keys, mag cards, alarm codes, etc.

        Daily Financial Responsibilities:

    All MANAGER’s must maintain a working knowledge of all financial controls, including: ( Cash and Credit card deposits must be made every day.

    • Scrutinize and question staff about all comps, promos, employee discounts, paid-outs and voids on a daily basis.
    • Compliance with all labor laws, to include overtime, minimum wage, minors, tip share, etc.
    • Submit all Food and Beverage bills for payment weekly or upon receipt.
    • Retain a working knowledge of pricing and cost issues and oversee that all food and beverage products are purchased cost-effectively.
    • Security is always top of mind and safety controls are maintained (e.g. back gate, office and back doors always remain locked, panic buttons are worn by all managers, security cameras are functioning, safe is never on “day lock”, etc.).
