Summary
The Electronics Technician Maintenance I applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Install and test electrical, electronic, mechanical and electromechanical equipment, components, or subsystems as required in the maintenance, modification and upgrade of systems to which assigned. Perform maintenance actions in response to preventive and corrective maintenance requirements generated in support of assigned computer based training devices and simulators. Perform maintenance services (i.e., inspect, test, adjust, align, calibrate). Troubleshoot system, isolate faults to system, subsystem, or subassembly and replace faulty element to restore system to normal operation in the most timely manner to minimize equipment downtime. Bench check, repair and/or replace faulty modules and components of failed subassemblies, utilizing available technical documentation and tools/test equipment. Perform preventive maintenance checks and services on training devices and simulators. Prepare and submit maintenance-related problem and corrective action reports for inclusion in weekly and monthly reporting system. Research and update technical documentation, to include insertion of change pages. Assist in identifying supply requirements and maintain supply stockage areas. Provide assistance to instructors/Operators as required in support of training schedule requirements. Perform maintenance action without supervision in support of off-site training devices and simulators. Perform quality control functions and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years’ experience as electronic maintenance technician or equivalent; hands-on experience in performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on electronic equipment and instrumentation; ability to work under supervision; graduation from a two-year electronic technician resident course at an accredited technical school or equivalent, completion of factory formal training on computer-based training devices, or comparable military technical training; experience in the operation, use, maintenance and upgrade of personal computers or equivalent; experience in the use and installation of personal computer application software; experience in debugging computer hardware and software.. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Clearance.
