Job Developer supports social services clients in job searching and placement. Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients. Being a Job Developer evaluates individual's background, skills, and interest and matches to potential job openings or training programs. Coaches and prepares candidate for interview and entry into the workforce. Additionally, Job Developer may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Job Developer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Job Developers build relationships with clients, businesses, & community partners. They assist people with disabilities
find & maintain employment in their community.
Some responsibilities include:
• Communicate on a regular basis with support services personal agents, co-workers, vocational rehabilitation
counselors, families, county case managers,
and networks of support to report progress and identify solutions to employment barriers.
• Develop and maintain written Vocational Profiles for all individuals receiving job development services.
• Utilize the principles of individualized job development to negotiate jobs for people referred to BAE by Vocational
Rehabilitation & other agencies.
• Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with Vocational Rehabilitation and local placement agencies.
• Build relationships with employers to facilitate skill building, assessments, & job placements. This position requires a
minimum of four contacts with businesses per week.
• Complete documentation for vocational services required by outside agencies and BAE in an accurate and timely
manner.
• Identify and refer individuals to Social Security Work Incentive (benefit counseling) as appropriate.
• Obtain/maintain any certifications that may be required and participate in training focusing on progressive methods in
job development.
• Facilitate, participate in, and/or attend OVRS meetings to maintain contact with counselors and persons seeking
employment.
• Able to meet placement and retention quotas set by supervisor.
• Perform all other duties as assigned to ensure that the department and organizational strategic goals and mission are
met.
Required qualifications:
• Valid driver's license. Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass federal, state, and local background checks
• Must pass drug test to include random drug testing (THC not included)
• High school diploma

• Proven experience as a Job Developer
• Experience in working with people with disabilities
• Ability to adhere to regulations and standards
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• BS/BA in social studies, business or relevant field
