Jig and Fixture Builder assembles a variety of standard and non-standard major jigs, fixtures and related tooling. Ensures jigs function appropriately with complex angles or contours. Being a Jig and Fixture Builder is responsible for determining methods and sequence of operations and scheduling work to be performed from tool design drawings. Designs and creates jig and fixture details and holding devices. Additionally, Jig and Fixture Builder may be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established control procedures. Requires a high school diploma in a related area with certification in the field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Jig and Fixture Builder works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. The ideal candidate will have his or her own transportation and hand tools.
Job Summary : Responsible for building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, and other items using different types of materials including wood and composite materials.
Responsibilities :
- Excellent understanding of carpentry technique, materials and methods of installation and construction.
- Understanding of relevant building specs and instructions
- Proficient in using electrical, manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to occasionally operate machinery (lifts, skid steer, etc.) as needed.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
- Reliable and punctual
- Engage in professional interactions with Management, Designers and Architects as needed
- Must be physically able to meet the requirements of the job. At a minimum this would include regularly lifting and / or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.
- Willingness to always follow safety guidelines.
- Motivated and self-disciplined
Work Schedule : Full time : Monday-Friday, 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm. Occasional nights and weekend maybe required to meet deadlines.
