Retirement Plans Associate (Hybrid, Multiple Locations, Ft. Washington PA, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Waltham, MA)
Basic Function: Assist Retirement Plan Specialists (RPS) in responding to advisors needs on all types of retirement plans. Provide assistance to RPSs on retirement rules relevant to advisors and Lincoln staff. Assist with administrative tasks, operational procedures, and retirement related forms with Operations and Compliance.
Responsibilities:- Serve as support to the RPSs who provide consulting services to advisors and clients, provide in-house consulting, conduct training, technical research and analysis and complete special projects as assigned.
- Schedule meetings, maintain agendas and notes as well as other administrative support as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as organizing calendars, travel assistance, expense organization.
- Assist with meeting prep: PowerPoint, Agendas, Notes.
- Manage ongoing reporting and maintaining data necessary for the operation of the Retirement Plans business.
- Managing Industry Organizations (e.g. FSI, NTSA) advisor memberships and coordinate with commissions for advisor renewals.
- Manage CE for CFP Board.
- Organize, monitor and track new client Leads.
- Review QDROs.
- Assist the RPSs in the support of ERISA plans including reviewing forms and maintaining a plan database.
- Assist advisors in understanding Lincoln’s requirements for working with ERISA plans and monitor compliance with the designation requirements.
- Assist in the implementation and design of procedures supporting Plan disclosures.
- Monitor ZenDesk tickets, lead generations, voicemail boxes.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Act as a back-up to the RPSs in maintaining relationships with key contacts at state agencies, ARA, NTSA, and selected data aggregators and software providers.
Experience:- 2 years of retirement administration and/or sales experience and/or operational experience
Skills:- Excellent analytical and communication skills including the ability to write in a clear, concise, manner.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, manage tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent client relationship skills
- Expertise with Microsoft applications including experience using pivot tables to manage data in Excel.
- Demonstrated knowledge of retirement plans
- Experience with a Broker-Dealer or Investment Advisory firm is preferred.
Education:- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certification/Registration:
- Certified Pension Consultant, Qualified Plan Financial Consultant, Qualified Pension Administrator, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist or other designation which will demonstrate knowledge of retirement plans, to be completed within 18 months.
Physical and Other Requirements:
- May sit at workstation for extended periods of time.
- May view computer screen for extended periods of time.
- Periods of fast pace are typical when meeting deadlines.
