We are looking for a Payroll Specialist who has excellent customer service skills, can work in a fast-paced environment, and is adaptable. The successful candidate should be detail-oriented and organized, and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, and maintaining payroll records. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of payroll processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process and distribute payroll regularly, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain accurate employee records, including pay rates, benefits deductions, and time-off accruals
• Calculate and process employee wage garnishments, bonuses, and other payroll-related adjustments
• Review and verify employee timesheets for accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Work with HR and management to ensure proper onboarding, offboarding, and employee change processes are followed
• Conduct regular audits of payroll records to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and external stakeholders
• Stay up-to-date with payroll regulations and ensure compliance with state, federal, and local tax laws
• Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing and administration
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations, tax laws, and employment standards
• Proficient in using Paychex payroll software and systems a must!
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
