Reviews investment strategy, seeks out new opportunities, and recommends changes in investments to manage risk and generate acceptable rate of return. Being an Investment Manager measures and evaluates return on investment and trends that may impact the portfolio. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Investment Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Investment Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. The Investment Manager is responsible for leading UW & managing of investment opportunities from initial underwriting to closing of a deal, negotiating acquisition and disposition agreements, and enhancing the company's investment process through vetting, approving, and identifying areas of risk and opportunity to drive investment decisions. As an Investment & Underwriting Manager, this role will also require team building, relationship building, and the securitization of third-party services.
