Investment Manager manages overall bank's investment portfolio. Reviews investment strategy, seeks out new opportunities, and recommends changes in investments to manage risk and generate acceptable rate of return. Being an Investment Manager measures and evaluates return on investment and trends that may impact the portfolio. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Investment Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Investment Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Investment Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Reporting to the University Controller, the University is seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual to lead various activities of the Financial Reporting and Regulatory Compliance unit within the University Controller’s office. The individual will perform professional accounting duties involving the application of accounting theory, principles, and practices; support a variety of accounting and financial functions of the University, including general ledger accounting and reconciliation, investment pool and endowment fund accounting, federal and state tax regulation research and compliance assurance, annual and interim reporting for units and affiliates of the University, bank and cash management activities. Other duties will include assisting with the preparation of the University’s annual financial report and working directly with external and internal auditors; monitoring funds for compliance with applicable accounting standards and federal and state laws and regulations; responding to inquiries of oversight agencies and benchmarking and other financial surveys. The successful candidate must be familiar with GASB, other relevant accounting standards, and tax regulations as they relate to the University and its affiliates. Must have the ability to prepare and analyze financial reports.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Masters degree in Accounting or related field and 2-4 years of experience or Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field and 3-5 years of experience.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Licensed as a CPA in North Carolina
    Previous accounting experience in higher education
    Knowledge of GASB
    Experience experience with Banner Finance
