The Investment Analyst works with the entire acquisitions team to analyze and underwrite hotel real estate deals, aids in the procurement of management contracts and assist in compiling and organizing due diligence data.
· The Investment Analyst compiles, analyzes, researches, presents and communicates data with regard to hotel real estate acquisitions/devolpment and ultimately produces, with direction from key executives and internal team members, the valuation model for a particular asset or portfolio. They also assist in the preparation of collateral for management presentations.
· Compiling, reviewing and researching key data that will contribute to the underwriting of hotel real estate which includes possible travel to review subject properties and their markets, market analysis, brand analysis, demand dynamics, micro and macro-economic analysis.
· Updating and improving underwriting systems and processes on a continual basis.
· Work with internal associates (including key executives), capital partners and brokers to gather information and receive feedback that assist in constructing the underwriting.
· Inputting data into our valuation model and thereby constructing a business plan and pro forma that reflects the five to ten year performance of the hotel including a consolidated profit and loss statement, the hotels performance against its competitive set, market growth and investment returns.
· Downloading all available information from the due diligence web sites and communicating with the Acquisitions Manager as to the location of this information.
· Works with the feasibility team in ensuring due diligence information is organized.
· Is assigned various task from the due diligence checklist to complete during the Study Period.
· Assist feasibility team in presenting data and valuation models to internal evaluation team and capital partners
Education/Formal Training
Four year degree in finance and/or real estate preferred.
Experience
Must have significant experience in financial modeling in Excel and using PowerPoint.
