Responsibilities
As an Inventory Control Analyst, you will be tasked with analyzing and optimizing inventory procedures, utilizing data to improve stock levels and minimize carrying costs. The successful candidate will conduct in-depth inventory assessments and collaborate with cross functional teams to enhance inventory accuracy.
- Reconcile physical inventories including Spencer interim and physical inventories, along with Spirit physical inventories
- Review results to ensure proper balance on hand cut offs, proper drop shipment purchase order receiving, and proper transferring of off season merchandise and carton reconciliation for the Spirit stores under the area of support
- Responsible for the ongoing support of a quarter of Spencer and a quarter of Spirit stores (in season) by monitoring daily email, phone calls, and learning systems procedures and controls
- Analyze inventory transactions, monitor cost, identify exceptions and shrinkage, and interact with store manager and LP to resolve discrepancies/issues
- Establish systems, procedures and controls to assure the accuracy of inventory costs within the systems
- Monitor in-transit inventory relating to on water, factory to DC, and DC to store transfers
- Enter journal entries for inventory in General Ledger
- Responsible for the stock ledger perpetual inventory, including reviewing all significant movement of inventory (shipments, receipts, sales, returns, transfers, etc.)
- Support inventory management improvement initiatives by performing analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of accounting, inventory, and spreadsheet software; including Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel
- Retail inventory experience, preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
- Strong understanding of business and cost accounting
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to meet time sensitive deadlines
