Job Summary: | JOB SUMMARY: The Web Specialist supports the Web Coordinator for OSU Center for Health
Sciences and is responsible for coordinating the design, development, and
support of the university’s web presence. As part of the External Affairs
team, the Web Specialist is customer-service focused and achieves marketing
goals utilizing technical knowledge combined with strong written
communication skills. The Web Specialist plans site page layouts and
navigation within the system template, following brand guidelines, and in
partnership with team members. The Web Specialist will use graphic design
skills to enhance the design and content of web platforms. Assists with OSU
Medicine clinic site and OSU Medical Center site as needed.
Ability to conduct and report analysis of site traffic, Google reviews and
other digital analytics.
RESPONSIBLITIES: Website: Coordinate updates to the OSU-CHS website, updating web content, maintaining
accuracy, writing quality and appropriate style while adhering to marketing
and brand standards. Assist in creation of new web content, following
industry best-practice and OSU brand guidelines. Responsible for supporting
the design, development and support of the university’s web activities to
ensure online marketing initiatives mirror those of marketing team
priorities. Monitor site regularly to ensure that content is up to date.
Review analytics regularly to offer improvements to site layout and SEO. Updates to partner sites: Make updates as needed to OSU Medicine Clinics website and OSU Medical Center
website, as well as other independent sites related to the CHS institution. Customer Support: Provide customer service by answering questions and concerns when necessary.
Enabling distributed ownership for internal constituents.
Environmental Hazards: Typically a normal office environment.

Position Qualifications: | REQUIRED: - Associates Degree - At least Two (2) years of professional web development or design experience;
or equivalent experience - Experience with WordPress and other CMS platforms
SKILLS, PROFICIENCIES, KNOWLEDGE: -A flexible team player who is self-motivated and meets deadlines. -Excellent customer-service skills. -Ability to facilitate workflow processes and manage information. -Required skills include knowledge of HTML, XML and CSS, familiarity with PHP
and working knowledge of Wordpress. -Writing, editing and proofreading skills. -Basic graphic editing skills with software such as Photoshop, Illustrator
and Canva. -Experience with editing and formatting copy for web with emphasis on
keywords and SEO. -Ability to conduct and report analysis of site traffic. -Working knowledge of web principles, best practices and content management
platforms. -Familiarity with analytical tools such as Google Analytics and webmaster
tools. -Experience in management of other digital channels including updates, design
and user experience a plus -Understanding of ecommerce, PPC, SEO & SEM
Preferred: -Associates Degree in Web Development/Design, Management of Informatic
Systems, Digital Marketing, Strategic Communications, Interdisciplinary -At least two to three years of professional web development or design
experience; or equivalent experience -Experience working with email and social media platforms. -Experience in an academic setting a plus. -Experience with OmniUpdate CMS a plus. |
