    Staff Systems and Applications Engineer

    Position: Staff Systems and Applications Engineer

    We are a passionate and dedicated team of world-class analog, mixed-signal, digital and RF engineers committed to building the next generation of ASoCs.

    This position is for an experienced and equally passionate Systems and Applications Engineer interested in excellent personal and professional growth opportunities.

    Your Role

    As a systems and applications engineer you will work with a dedicated team, designing and evaluating analog, digital, audio and RF board-level systems based on SOCs for wireless audio/data applications. Your responsibilities include working with customers to create new product specifications and producing product collateral such as form factor reference designs and application notes. Providing benchmark analysis for customer applications is another key aspect. You will also contribute to the development of radio and audio chips by creating and executing system validation plans, designing evaluation boards, system test platforms, specifying, contributing to the development of application firmware and creating product datasheets that include both silicon and firmware features. The role requires cross functional engagement with marketing, Silicon Design Engineering, Firmware and software development, test engineering and product engineering. You must be interested and passionate in hands on lab work as well as preparing and presenting customer demos.
    Flawless execution, with a sense of urgency is key, but also to be an "out of the box" thinker, to find innovative solutions to our customer's problems.

    Your Profile
    • Proven track record in board-level analog, mix signal and digital system design
    • 8 years (BSEE) or 6 years (MSEE) of relevant industry experience, ideally in the field of audio and RF
    • Experienced Mixed Signal System designer
    • Experienced PCB Designer (with RF considerations)
    • Digital Audio savvy (design and test & measurement)
    • Skilled in Software and Firmware development (including Python and/or Labview)
    • Data analysis (e.g. JMP)
    • Experienced in producing detailed technical reports and documentation
    • Professional, open and highly self-motivated attitude
    • Interest in direct customer interaction including on-site support for demonstrations and cooperative development
    Ideally you are also experienced in
    • Antenna design
    • FPGA/RTL design
    • RF Systems design and testing (BT, WiFi, proprietary)

    The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$110,600 -$210,600per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
