Interventional Radiological Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being an Interventional Radiological Technologist observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Interventional Radiological Technologist typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Job Summary
We are looking to add a positive, energetic, and self-motivating individual to join the team at West Michigan Interventional Pain & Spine as a Procedure Room C-arm Operator. The right candidate complies with State and Federal regulations for radiation usage and safety. It is preferred the candidate have at least one-year experience with C-arm imaging although we are willing to train a motivated MA or CNA. Provides appropriate and safe patient care. Works positively with all customers to promote employer, patient, and physician satisfaction. Willing to learn the Sterile Technique is a major plus. The ideal candidate will have C-Arm experience, preferably in a Pain Management Procedure Room setting!
Responsibilities and Duties
· Properly utilizes C-arm and other x-ray equipment
· Assists with room turnover in the procedure room.
· Assists physician with setting up procedure tray and supplies.
· Maintains patient comfort and adheres to proper safety procedures.
· Adheres to and practices appropriate Infection Control Policies and Procedures.
· Follows principles of aseptic technique in performing duties during the procedure.
· Follows manufacturer’s specifications and OSHA guidelines when performing x-ray procedure.
· Assumes responsibility for maintaining and improving diagnostic imaging knowledge and skills with the support and assistance of outside educational resources.
· Completes duties according to the requirements of each procedure requiring radiological support.
· Assembles necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduled procedure.
· Tests and monitors equipment for proper working condition.
· Accurately comprehends and interprets verbal orders and direction.
· Documents records and other forms, accurately adhering to approved policies/procedures.
· Confirms that all persons in the room are appropriately shielded before activating x-ray.
· Communicates information about the patient’s status to other persons responsible for patient care.
· Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety.
· Maintains adequate supplies to provide immediate availability during the procedure.
· Maintains a clean and organized work area.
· Responsible for on-going continual education to improve job performance and also maintaining current license and certification for the facility radiology equipment and license.
Qualifications and Skills
· EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of radiology (preferred). Willing to train a motivated CNA or MA.
· EXPERIENCE: Minimum one (1) year preferred; preferably in a pain management procedure room setting. Willing to train the right individual.
· SCHEDULE: Part-time, 1-2 days per week.
· PAY: Negotiable; this is a 1099 independent contractor position.
