JOB SUMMARY
REPORTS TO: Director of Sales POSITION
• Reach and or exceed assigned revenue, sales call activity goals, and manage assigned action plans.
• Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals. This will consist of telephone communication, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
• Responsible for consistent and ongoing prospecting for and capturing new business via leads generated through personal sales effort to identify new sources of business.
• Qualify leads and prospects gained from cold calls, telemarketing, newspapers, referrals sales blitzes, brand sales leads, nationals sales office leads, local leads and other sources.
• Represent the hotel at trade shows, industry events, networking events and other opportunities to drive awareness and generate new bookings. Communicate effectively and genuinely with guests, team members and other departments. Responsible for all efforts at the front desk, including scheduling, training, guest service initiatives, etc…and coordinating all communication from and to the front desk between all departments.
• Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
• Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures
• Celebrate successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members
• Up-sell products and services throughout the event process
• Participate in customer site inspections and assists with the sales process when needed
• Act as liaison between salesperson and client throughout the event process
• Review billing and payments with clients
• Handle guest problems and complaints
• Greet client during the event phase and hand-off to the operations team for the execution of details
• Strive to improve service performance
• Set a positive example for guest relations
• Coordinate and communicate verbally and in writing with customer (internal and external) regarding event details

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 4 years of Food and Beverage experience.
• Must be proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, occasionally including nights, holidays & weekends.
• High school degree (or equivalency) with Hotel/College training preferred
• Previous Restaurant or Hotel Food and Beverage experience preferred
• Solid understanding of banquet revenue generation
• Creative and innovative, as well as proactive and customer-oriented
• High energy and outgoing personality
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Diplomatic team player
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, event management software and customer management platform
• A flexible schedule that allows availability days, nights, holidays, and weekends based on the demands of the hotel
• Must be able to travel outside the area for sales appointments, meetings, and trade shows.
