  • Summary of Position:
    The Human Resources (HR) Manager serves as a member of the Fortune Fish & Gourmet Human Resources Team and has HR responsibility for the D’Artagnan Business Units. The incumbent will be able to positively influence business outcomes, while building value for all stakeholders by employing world-class HR practices within the following domains: Talent Acquisition, Employee Development, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, Employee Engagement and Project Management.

    Moreover, the HR Manager will be a key member of the D’Artagnan Management Team and will work closely with managers, supervisors, and employees to provide tactical HR guidance as well as support for strategic HR initiatives and projects.

    This role has a Human Resources Generalist as a direct report and works with Corporate Compensation for payroll services.

    Description:
    • Business Partner: Act as a business partner to the executive team, managers, and supervisors by understanding key business levers that drive organizational success. This will include engaging business leaders in discussing appropriate financial, operational, and customer requirements to drive business results.
    • Strategic Thinking: Support the development of organizational strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues, actively contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to overcome organizational obstacles.
    • Technical Competence: Obtain superior business outcomes and maximize value for company, employees, and customers through human resources operations, including, but not limited to:
    • Talent Acquisition, Employee Development, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Compensation Management, Benefits Design and Administration, and Employee Engagement.
    • Project Management: Accomplish HR project objectives by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities, while leveraging appropriate resources to obtain project goals.
    • Coaching and Mentorship: Consult management by providing advice and counsel, while analyzing relevant information and recommending evidence-based decisions. Acts a mentor to organizational leaders by modeling leadership behaviors consistent with a high performing business professional.
    • Experienced with coaching, counseling, and investigations.
    • Research and Policy Development: Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, and updating policies and guidelines based on legal principles and sound judgement.
    • Compliance: Understand and comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping abreast of new legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements. Acts a key advisor to management on needed actions.
    • Experience with Workman’s Compensation, FMLA, STD, LTD, and OSHA Reporting.
    • Continuous Learning: Update HR job knowledge by participating in cost-effective conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
    • Other: Perform other duties as required by the Vice President of Human Resources.

    Minimum Requirements:
    • Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of HR Management experience supporting a team of 300 employees. A balanced combination of Fortune 500 (or equivalent) experience. Middle market food processing experience preferred.
    • Education: Undergraduate degree in a business area. Advance degree a plus.
    • Work Ethic: Demonstrated desire to work a 45-hour work week.
    • Communications: Have highly developed English verbal and written communication skills. Spanish spoken proficiency highly preferred.
    • Technical: High proficiency in using personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite, including high internet fluency. Systems Experience: HRIS - ADP desired, Unemployment Cost Management System – Equifax desired, and electronic expense management - Concur Solutions preferred.
    • Professional Certification: Certification as a Professional in Human Resources desired (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
    • Work Environment: Willingness to work in an unstructured and fast-faced environment. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
