Outstanding opportunity for an ambitious, driven, dynamic, and resourceful Bilingual Human Resource Director to lead and navigate our diverse, fast paced and growing international logistics organization with departmental essentials and procedures. The goal is to spearhead organizational success through human resources management, including job design, recruitment, performance management, training & development, employment cycle changes, talent management, and facilities management services. The ideal candidate will conduct the development, coordination, implementation and administering of personnel policies, procedures and programs which address employment process, employee benefits, compensation, state and federal labor regulations, employee relations and record management. Must possess a global mindset, leadership and business acumen coupled with ethical, interpersonal, and strategic thinking.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the recruitment, selection, training, onboarding, monitoring, appraising, and assessment of employees.
- Administrator weekly payroll and maintain complete personnel files and required employment documentation for all employees in compliance with recommended record keeping practices, ensure legality, compliance, and technical details of both national and international operations and projects and/or assignments as directed.
- Develops and maintains job descriptions and posting on job sites and social media.
- Assists management teams with departmental records and monitoring of employee schedules, vacations, personal, sick, and comp time; ensures that all departments are adequately staffed.
- Coordinates, reviews, maintains, and arranges for staff training, appraisals, advancement, and professional development seminars/programs.
- Assess, review, and monitor training needs, insurances and health related benefits and programs are utilized at optimal levels.
- Obtains bids on policies for renewal purposes and coordinates benefit plan design and/or revision.
- Develop and implement innovative HR strategies and initiatives aligned with enhancing HR operations, directing enterprise and workplace culture, retention, and overall positive organizational attitude.
- Provide support and bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, handling terminations and any other employee related issues.
- Serves as information resource and liaison between employees and management.
- Monitor and maintain insurance policies for workers compensation and unemployment compensation plans by filing appropriate claims/reports in a timely manner.
- Manage Central America's motivational activities, as well as their vacations and hiring requirements for the new employees.
- Manage the safety & security trainings for the yard workers, as well as manage the equipment & uniform policy.
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Prominent level of interpersonal, communication, negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Tenacity to handle sensitive and confidential situations with discretion, poise, tact, and diplomacy.
- Ability to influence and architect workforce and succession planning and strategy.
- In depth knowledge and experience implementing US and foreign labor laws and HR practices.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, Internet sourcing and HRIS and ATS software.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fully bilingual, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, in Spanish and English, necessary.
- Bachelor’s Degree, PHR and/or SHRM certification(s), ideal.
- Minimum of 3 years’ verifiable experience in a Human Resources leadership or administrative supportive role.
- Must be flexible and available/on call evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Occasional travel with overnight stays.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check.
