International Controller directs and develops the organization's international accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Ensures the preparation and analysis of all financial reports meet the needs of the organization and comply with all applicable regulations. Being an International Controller maintains an in-depth, and up to date knowledge and understanding of both US and international accounting principles. Advises management of potential changes in accounting regulations or practices that may impact international operations and reporting. Additionally, International Controller requires a bachelor's degree of accounting or finance. Typically reports to a CFO or top management. Typically requires CPA. The International Controller manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an International Controller typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Position Summary

    Accountable for the accurate and timely preparation, analysis, control and distribution of casino financial information, statements, records and reports as directed; insuring for the overall care, control and management of casino assets, revenue, funds, in accordance with standard operating procedures, tribal and state gaming regulations, federal and state regulations, tribal/state compact and governing regulations, casino minimum internal controls (MICS); departmental policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

    General Expectations

    • Actively participate in staff, strategic planning, and interdepartmental meetings as requested. Contribute to the business strategy by identifying, prioritizing, building and/or recommending improvements in organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes.
    • Approach business and personnel decisions and actions guided by sound personal and professional ethics and common sense; consistently behave in ways that reflect a commitment the Casino?s principles, values, mission, strategies, and objectives and promotes integrity, respect, accountability, passion, dedication and fun.
    • Learn and maintain knowledge of applicable gaming regulatory and Casino policies and procedures.
    • Learn quickly and act independently when the situation requires; recognizing the need and taking appropriate action without prompting or being reminded.
    • Actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.
    • Present a professional and courteous manner and work within a team environment.
    • Willing to work extended hours, irregular schedules and all shifts including weekends and holidays. Able to maintain a reliable and dependable work presence.
    • Promote positive public/employee relations at all times, maintain composure and build relationships with guests/team members that encourage repeat patronage and positive word-of-mouth; to adhere to Casino standards for superior guest service.
    • Remain current and maintain professional contacts regarding accounting and financial trends, issues, and legal changes. Attend seminars, educational workshops, classes and conferences as approved; review professional publications and establish professional networks and relationships. Attend required in-house training programs and pass applicable testing requirements.
    • Organize time and resources effectively; function effectively and efficiently under pressure (time/demand) of projects and/or multiple tasks requirements; identify priorities; meet deadlines; handle stressful situations during busy periods; and work in a demanding/non-consistent environment.
    • Maintain professional grooming and appearance (attire) and act as a role model according established grooming/appearance policies.
    • Maintain the confidentiality of all privileged information and records pertinent to the nature of the work.
    • Create an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.
    • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

    Recruitment and Selection Criteria

    • BA/BS 4-year degree (required) in accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited institution. MBA or related advanced degree a plus.
    • Five (5) plus years of recent financial/accounting experience including significant revenue audit and cage cash management responsibilities, and GL in a systems-based environment.
    • Gaming experience required.
    • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP accounting principles; Anti-Money Laundering / Title 31 requirements, and knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices and reporting.
    • Strong computer skills and proficiency in relevant accounting software - Dynamics GP a plus ; MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PP).
    • Knowledge/Experience with AR, AP, FA/PA a plus.
    • Knowledge/Experience of state/federal statutes regarding accounting and financial requirements.
