Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to join our team. As an Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting internal audits to assess the effectiveness of our organization's internal controls and compliance with regulations. a big part of your role will be identifying risks and providing recommendations to improve operational efficiency and mitigate potential issues.
Responsibilities:
- Audit loans, new accounts and opperational documentation, and supporting documents and disclosures on all loans based on established guidelines and policies.
- Ensure loans, deposit accounts and operations are audited with accuracy and consistency.
- Load exceptions to policy and regulatory compliance into exception tracking system.
- Communicate with branch personnel regarding loans, deposit accounts and operational documentation, exceptions and trailing documents.
- Assist with Special Projects and/or Internal/External audits as needed.
- Ability to work independently to ensure reports are reviewed and processed in a timely manner.
- Ability to prioritize daily workload while performing multiple tasks.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc.
- Complete required compliance training and adhere to the Bank’s standard of Conduct.
- Conduct financial audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
- Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and action plans
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, accounting standards, and best practices in internal auditing.
Requirments:
- 2 or more years of banking experince and loan documentation.
- General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to make difficult decisions and handle multiple tasks
