Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor supervises interior fabrication of aircraft including mechanics, the fitting of sub-assemblies to the aircraft, and final aircraft interior production. Ensures compliance with all engineering, FAA, and customer regulations and specifications. Being an Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. The Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. To be an Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. This position is responsible for assembling of product components and hand soldering of connectors. To ensure success in this role you should possess a strong knowledge of product assembly and experience in a similar industry. This position performs assembling and soldering electrical components, systems, and assemblies. Following procedures for soldering connector ends, assembly of connector and how to select solder, flux, and cleaning requirements is preferred. All solders are trained and certified to the J-STD 001. Solder’s may require crimping contacts to conductors per router, drawing and procedure when applicable.
