    SUMMARY

    Responsible for all planning and completion of daily aircraft related tasks including interiors components and monuments installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, while ensuring the safety, training and production of team members, with minimal supervision.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Lead, coordinate, and provide instruction and direction to Interiors Mechanics, while participating as a working member of the crew.
    • Accomplish tasks using work methods and procedures, strictly in accordance with engineering drawings, manufacturer’s specifications, Process Standards and Airplane Maintenance Manuals.
    • Ensure Mechanics understand job assignments and how to accomplish tasks properly and efficiently.
    • Set performance expectations for crew members and hold mechanics accountable for performance and productivity.
    • Interface with opposite shift regarding daily requirements; produce complete and accurate shift turnover logs.
    • Train employees in work methods and procedures, strictly in accordance with engineering drawings, manufacturer’s specifications, Process Standards and Airplane Maintenance Manuals.
    • Read, interpret and follow Task Card Instructions, Airplane Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and Engineering Drawings for modifications.
    • Perform tasks in a manner that achieves the highest quality workmanship.
    • Perform all tasks associated with the removal and installation of seats, bulkheads, galleys, lavs, window panels, headliners, side walls, bag bins, and misc. interior items.
    • Understand aircraft water systems, oxygen systems, wire harness connectors, and their relationship to interior removals and installation.
    • Use warning caps and protective plugs ensuring the safety of workers and avoiding damage to disturbed systems; Use extreme care and apply protective coverings to components upon installation.
    • Complete documentation and tasks associated with interior removals: Identification tags, removal weight log, hardware bags, warning tags, and protection of parts for storage.
    • Understand basic aircraft stringer and frame station layout. Perform composite, honeycomb, delamination repairs.
    • Perform tasks associated with Formica, Teldar, wood laminate, hardwood, carpet, and fabric recovering of interior components.
    • Apply interior finishes including paint, stain, sealer, clear coat, and final detailing of components.
    • Install floor coverings to include Mylar, vinyl padding, and carpets.
    • Identify types of fiberglass and resins, installation of inserts, and structure hard point attachments.
    • Be familiar with the application of adhesives, sealants, resins, fillers and potting compounds.
    • Understand upholstery tasks, material layout and patterns, use of sewing and surge machines.
    • Ensure proper sheet metal provisions and attachment points that support component installs.
    • Ensure proper use of job-related hand tools and shop equipment to accomplish interior removals and installation and to support component recovering and modifications.
    • Install Cabin Comfort Insulation Kits.
    • Perform final detailing of interior.
    • Assure all paperwork requirements are kept current with job progress.
    • Maintain and record accurate time accounting records in CIMA; verify subordinates’ reporting.
    • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with company standards.
    • Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship for the team.
    • Prioritize and assign tasks; examine work output for completeness, process conformance and timeliness.
    • Assist in carrying our administrative duties such as production timekeeping, incident/accident reports, and other documentation/reporting in a timely manner.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    QUALIFICATIONS   

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • High School education or equivalent reading, writing, and math abilities.
    • 7 years of experience with VIP aircraft interiors.
    • Previous lead experience preferred.
    • Expertise and personal skills to provide direction to Interior Mechanics including a fluent and solid understanding of aircraft interior component removals and installations, upholstery, cabinetry, carpeting, finishes and paint.
    • Solid understanding of aircraft interior component removals and installations.
    • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools and equipment.
    • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
    • Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed. 

    LANGUAGE SKILLS 

    • Read, write, and understand the English language. 
    • Read, analyze, and interpret complex regulatory documents, technical documents, engineering drawings, regulations, procedures and manuals. 

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

    • Must be properly certificated per FAR Part 65, Repairman’s or Airframe & Powerplant licenses.
