Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor supervises interior fabrication of aircraft including mechanics, the fitting of sub-assemblies to the aircraft, and final aircraft interior production. Ensures compliance with all engineering, FAA, and customer regulations and specifications. Being an Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. The Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. To be an Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Summary and Objective

    Aircraft Interior Finisher 1 inspect, remove, and install pieces or sections of an aircraft's interior, including carpeting, soundproofing, cabinets, lighting, and walls. This position is for a highly energetic individual with good people skills and decision-making metrics.

    Essential functions

    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

    • Work from noncomplex blueprints, specifications, worksheet, dimensions, color codes, mixing charts, tables, verbal, and written instructions/specifications.
    • Prepare and clean items, surfaces to be finished.
    • Prepare, mask, sand, buff, repair, and polish aircraft cabinets.
    • Use of bondo and glue.
    • Spraying polyester, polyurethane, and clear coats.
    • Knowledge of paints and being able to mix properly (solvent base, water base, clear coats).
    • Knowing how to do touch ups inside the aircraft in a timely manner.
    • Leather seat prepping, cleaning, and dying.
    • Ability to work with and understand Corridor.
    • Cleaning and maintenance of spray application equipment, booths, filters, PPE, and other equipment to established practices.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Ability to perform inspections and repairs.
    • Ability to learn new skills and methods of repairs.
    • Sufficient oral and verbal communication skills, as needed, to discuss equipment malfunctions and complete reports.
    • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States, must provide two forms of Federal Identification.

    Competencies

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software used to complete and maintain records.

    Supervisory responsibilities

    • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

    Work environment

    • While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and loud noise levels both inside and outside the hangar.
    • Possible exposure to a variety of extreme weather conditions.
    • Exposure to loud noises including airplane machinery and jet engines.

    Physical demands

    • Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces.
    • Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders.
    • Must be able to frequently lift and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds
    • Manual dexterity and physical strength are necessary to operate tools and/or make adjustments and repairs.
    • Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.
    • The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be 8-12 hours)

    Travel required

    • Some, less than 10%
