Are you experienced in working on interior design projects of various types and directing project teams in California? We are looking for a Project Manager who enjoys actively managing various projects at one time, has excellent programming and space planning skills, are familiar with the tenant planning process, enjoy significant interaction with decision makers internally and externally, and want to use your understanding of building accessibility codes, exiting and life/safety requirements in various building types.

You will be working closely with Principals, Senior Designers, Project Architects and other Project Managers developing unique design solutions in response to our client's needs and deadlines. Your oversight on projects will enhance existing client relationships and build new ones through excellent design services. You will also participate in networking opportunities and marketing pursuits in business development efforts for new projects.

     

    Successful candidates will be a Certified interior designer or Licensed architect with 8 years of professional experience honed on projects of various types and sizes, mostly tenant improvements. They will work in the Interior Design studio and report to the Interior Design Department leader supporting interior design projects of various sizes. Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients is essential. You will leverage the technical skills of your teams to deliver projects on budget and on schedule. 

     

     

    In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with Principal in evaluation of project requirements and helps to negotiate an acceptable owner-architect agreement including the fee and time schedule.
  • Demonstrate task-focused mastery of project scope, profitability, schedule and budget. Completes projects on schedule, within budget and with maximum client satisfaction.
  • Oversee and complete space program, space planning and design related tasks and lead research of materials and concepts to advise and support design team on decisions influencing the project and client needs.
  • Negotiate critical issues with principals, architects, engineers and officials of other organizations.
  • Utilize experience and technical knowledge and monitors quality of the construction documents keeping in mind schedules/budgets and provides coaching/communication as appropriate with team leaders and/or team members who are responsible for work flow/timelines, etc.
  • Develop discipline cost and work-hour budgets for each project and monitors project costs, completion status against budget schedules/timelines.
  • Oversee all correspondence and pertinent documents, making sure they are accurate.
  • Provide day-to-day management for projects as delegated by the Principal keeping lines of communication open with all office management leaders and assists with preparation of client billings prior to submittal for signature.
  • Collaborate with the Principal as requested in the marketing of projects including development of proposals and possible participation in client interviews.
  • Set an example for team effort through the spirit of cooperation while directing, organizing and mentoring junior staff.
  • You will need to have:

    • Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
    • Certified interior designer or licensed architect
    • 8 years of professional experience
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients.
    • Ability to oversee and be responsible for project delivery, schedule, budget, profitability and client satisfaction
    • Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp and other industry accepted software is desirable
    • Expertise with Project Management software and Microsoft Office products is necessary

    Salary Information:

    The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $86,500 - $125,600
