    Our client seeks an experienced IP Legal Secretary ("IP Specialist") to provide administrative and patent prosecution support to the Firm's Electrical/Mechanical (E/M) Patent Prosecution Practice Group. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Prosecution Practice Group.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support all areas of patent prosecution from preparation and filing of new patent applications through allowance, and all prosecution filings in between.
    • Maintain attorney docket to monitor PTO deadlines, client deadlines, and attorney calendars to ensure that action due dates are timely met.
    • Schedule appointments for timekeepers, organizing, updating and maintaining electronic filing systems of professional, administrative and prosecution case files.
    • Prepare client reporting letters.
    • Maintain current knowledge of U.S. filing procedures and rules relating to patent prosecution.
    • Keep abreast of firm and client procedures.

    Qualifications:

    • 5 years of experience in an IP legal secretarial role.
    • Experience and/or education in patent prosecution is required.
    • Proactive, with ability to anticipate attorney and client needs.
    • Superior communication and writing skills.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve conflicts with minimal direction.
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
    • Possess a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
    • Japanese or French language skills a plus

    Ability to work remotely, after initial training period.
