Principal Engineer

Global C2 Integration Technologies is looking for talented and enthusiastic principal Engineer. As a principal Engineer specializing in cloud-based, service-oriented development, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of advanced analytics and collaboration solutions to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) Known Suspected Terrorist Tracking initiative. Your role will involve designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based services to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of terrorist tracking efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop Systems Requirements, Specification, Designs, Testing & Validation, and Deliveries.
- System Development: Development scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-based data analytics and collaboration systems that can effectively process and distribute large volumes of structured and unstructured data Ensure the design incorporates appropriate security measures and data privacy considerations.
- Technology Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate cloud-based analytics platforms, tools, and technologies to meet project requirements. Stay updated with the latest advancements in cloud computing and data analytics to recommend innovative solutions.
- Software Development: development required software applications and visualization toolkits that provide service linkage, data translation, AI/ML algorithm, network communication, and information display.
- Data Acquisition and Integration: Identify relevant data sources and develop mechanisms to acquire, ingest, and integrate data from various internal and external systems. Collaborate with program manager, data scientists, and corporate leadership to ensure the seamless flow of data into the analytics ecosystem.
- Infrastructure Deployment: Collaborate with infrastructure and Information Security teams to provision, configure, and optimize cloud-based resources required for data analytics operations. Implement automation and monitoring solutions to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of the analytics infrastructure.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize data processing and analytics algorithms to improve performance, efficiency, and accuracy. Identify bottlenecks and implement measures to enhance system scalability and response times.
- Security and Privacy: Implement robust security controls to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies. Incorporate privacy-by-design principles into the data analytics systems to safeguard individual privacy rights.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Lead a team of data engineers, data scientists, and other technical experts, providing guidance and support throughout the implementation process. Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional growth.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, design specifications, and user manuals. Generate regular progress reports, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in cloud-based data analytics, preferably with expertise in platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding of data processing frameworks, such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Elasticsearch.
- Strong software application development background in Java, C/C .
- Proficiency in data analytics programming languages, such as Python, R, or Scala.
- Experience with advanced analytics techniques, including machine learning, natural language processing, and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of data integration methodologies, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data pipeline development.
- Familiarity with data visualization and cartography tools
- Solid understanding of data security and privacy principles, including encryption, access controls, and anonymization techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Current, or ability to acquire, U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance.
