This position is an administrative role tending to new patient referrals related to breast that need to be seen in either Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology or our High Risk Breast Program. This role collaborates closely with the Nurse Navigators on the team who triage the referrals and provide clinical guidance on scheduling timeframe. Some of these breast needs/concerns are cancer and some are benign, so the urgency is different depending on the unique situation of that particular patient/referral. Our Breast Intake Coordinator connects directly with patients and also corresponds with the referring office as well as other institutions where the patient may have received breast care services prior, as well as collaborates with the Breast Imaging department, as often times the patient needs more imaging before they come see our provider. Attention to detail, organization, strong communication skills and an ability to multi task are all traits that will make one successful in this role.
