What success looks like in this role:
The Director of Risk Management provides strategic direction and oversight of the risk management function for a global company with over 16,000 associates and approximately 90 properties across 30 countries. Leads the corporate risk function on self-insured claims oversight while developing, enforcing and driving strategy pertaining to compliance and safety.
This position is home based with some travel to Unisys' Blue Bell, PA executive office.
* Provide guidance on facility, customer and other contracts as it related to risk management
* Direct the review and settlement of general liability and workers' compensation claims
* Guide the risk management function and third-party claims adjusters along with in-house and external counsel on claims resolution
* Advise leaders on incidents as they occur in real-time
* Provide regular updates of ongoing material general liability claims to the applicable owners
* Provide regular updates of the workers' compensation program and key claims to management
* Lead discussions of insurance program renewals (primarily Workers' Compensation, Property, General Liability, Auto, and Umbrella/Excess) with brokers, executive management and applicable ownership groups
* Develop, communicate, and monitor company-wide risk management and safety goals and programs
You will be successful in this role if you have:
Position Requirements:
* 10 years of progressive experience with risk management and workers' comp programs
* Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts for risk related exposure
* Experience evaluating claims (workers' compensation, auto liability, general liability, etc.) and adjusting and evaluating claims reserves
* Bachelor's degree in Risk Management preferred
* Superior analytical skills and extensive experience with analysis/utilization of reports
