Insurance and Risk Management Director directs the development and optimization of an organization's overall insurance program to manage and minimize risk and costs. Defines strategic objectives and policies to ensure effective insurance coverage for the organization and to develop risk financing budgeting. Being an Insurance and Risk Management Director implements processes that identify risk exposure and classify, measure, and manage insurable risks. Develops the appropriate mix of insurance coverage for the organization and negotiate policy pricing and terms with vendors. Additionally, Insurance and Risk Management Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Insurance and Risk Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The role you’ll contribute:
Responsible the risk management program of the organization. Responsible for the development of the overall risk management program to reduce or prevent loss by promoting a safe, healthy environment for patient, visitors and employees. Achieves compliance with state, federal and regulatory bodies. Serves as Joint Commission Coordinator. Works closely with all departments in preparation for and during the survey process for the hospital.

Assists in review, documentation, and maintenance of incident reports involving real or potential safety issues that may cause injury to patients, visitors and hospital personnel.
Active component owner of RCA's and Quality Related Events for the Texas Health Huguley PSES.
Ensures all PSWP related to Risk Management PSES components is identified with approved PSES tag tine.
Serves as the PSO liaison relief when needed.
Serves on the Texas Health Huguley PSES Advisory Committee.
Ensures timely, efficient tracking and acquiring Of data for process improvement; makes recommendations regarding trends to committees and departments for improvement actions.
Participates in performance improvement activities and quality control throughout the organization.
Uses the hospital Performance Improvement model to identify and resolve various issues and improve outcomes both interdepartmentally and intradepartmental.
The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed:
Bachelor's prepared in nursing.
Currently licensed to practice as an RN in the slate of Texas.
CPEIRM certification preferred.
Minimum of five years' experience in healthcare.
