Insurance Claims Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting initiatives relative to the evaluation, processing, and handling of insurance claims for an organization. Acts as a liaison between the organization, its insurance provider and agents, claimants, and policy holders regarding the status and eligibility for coverage for all relevant claims. Being an Insurance Claims Coordinator reviews claims to make sure that billing requirements are met, updates accounts as necessary, answers inquiries, and makes recommendations for resolution. Typically requires an associate degree or its equivalent. Additionally, Insurance Claims Coordinator typically reports to a manager. An ideal candidate will have experience managing an inventory independently, experience assessing and evaluating liability, coverage, and damages, as well as working independently and directly with attorneys to negotiate and settle claims. This is a hybrid role operating out of our Warwick, RI, office. You’ll be expected to report to an office about four days per month for important meetings, training, and collaboration and will have the benefit of continued coaching from a supportive team. If you prefer an in-office environment, you’re welcome to work in the office more than four days per month. Duties & responsibilities - Determines coverage and liability. - Negotiate with claimants or their attorneys. - Settle claims and set reserves. - Estimates cost of treatment or compensation for those injured in accidents. - Analyze and interpret medical reports, follow-up with no-fault parties, and manage claims process to ensure efficient resolution. - Interview, collect and document information from various people such as claimants, agents/brokers, attorneys, and police. Must-have qualifications - Four years of relevant work experience with one year in claims handling OR - One year in claims handling and a bachelor’s degree OR - Three years of relevant work experience with one year in claims handling and an associate degree. Preferred skills - Auto and/or commercial insurance experience. Compensation - $65,800 - $85,100/year - Gainshare bonus up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance.
