Trexis Insurance is currently looking for a skilled individuals to train as an Inside Adjuster for our claims department This is a full-time position, working in our office in Phoenix AZ. The Insurance Adjuster Trainee is responsible for investigations into minor single- and multi- car auto accidents to determine liability; maintains a good working relationship with policy holders while establishing credibility for the company through the quality of work and thoroughness of the investigations; sets customer expectations, communicates timelines for investigation and explains applicable laws and coverages; takes recorded statements, resolves loss of use issues, makes payments to appropriate parties and negotiates settlements.

Essential Responsibilities

• Interpret personal auto policy language and analyzes liability for the appropriate jurisdictions
• Document a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making process
• Secure detailed factual recorded statements from insured’s, claimant’s and witnesses.
• Maintain adequate loss reserves
• Achieve initial contact standards
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with automotive repair facilities, police authorities and independent appraisal firms
• Monitor rental vehicle usage
• Manage diaries in such a manner as to accomplish timely claims resolution
• Appropriately recognize and assign claims to the SIU
• Meet or exceed file quality standards
• Handle Total Losses to completion
• Exceed customer’s expectations

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High School Diploma required. College degree is preferred.
• Experience in an insurance or customer service field is a plus.
• Communicate effectively and professionally in writing, by telephone or in person.
• Must make independent claims handling decisions on assigned claims
• Unwavering business ethics is a must
• Must be detail oriented, have good organizational skills and be able to multi-task in order to complete work within the 40 hour work week
• Consistent attention to detail and data resolution
• Strong ability to reason, negotiate and problem solve
• Must be able to foster and maintain positive internal and external customer service relationships
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, keyboarding and data entry skills
