Instructor - Sociology teaches courses in the discipline area of sociology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Pure Barre provides more than just an amazing workout for its clients, it is also a place where you can go to feel empowered, be held accountable, find support, motivation, and encouragement to live a healthier life and be your best self!The Pure Barre DC studios (Dupont Circle, Capitol Hill, Cathedral Commons) are looking for dynamic and confident individuals that are high performers with a passion for fitness to join our team.POSITION:
Instructors lead up to 23 participants through the Pure Barre class experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Availability to teach a minimum of 5 classes per week
- Must be available on weekends
- MID DAY and MID MORNING availbilty a huge PLUS!
- Diligently plan and prepare choreography before each class
- Learn full choreography changes on a quarterly basis
- Assist with keeping the studio tidy
- Lift hand weights, demonstrate full body pushups, and maintain high energy for 50-minute class
REQUIREMENTS:
- Enthusiastic, confident, and outgoing personality
- Passion for fitness, wellness, and helping others
- Ability and desire to build client relationships through outstanding customer service
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and natural willingness to go above and beyond
- Musicality - ability to keep a rhythm and count to the beat of the music
- Background in dance, fitness, cheerleading, or barre concept is a plus
- All instructors are required to complete a four-day training, followed by a 100-hour certification program before being eligible to teach classes
- Minimum one-year commitment
