Instructor - Physics teaches courses in the discipline area of physics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Physics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Physics typically reports to a department head. 9 Month Contract Full-Time Position (renewable contract position)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Physics/Physical Science Instructor will teach 15 credit hours of classes
each semester. The teaching assignment will include Physical Science and
College Physics I and II. All Allen instructors are expected to be prepared to
teach in all modalities. The position is responsible for student recruitment and
advising, academic program development and division participation,
committee and task force service, and individual professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master of Science in Physics or Engineering or a Master’s degree with a
minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the field is required. Experience in
college teaching is preferred.
LOCATION: Iola, Kansas Campus office location. On-campus office hours are required of
the position.
SALARY: Based on education and experience. Salary range for a Master’s Degree is
$44,437 - $62,039. Salary range for a PhD is $48,685-$78,205. An excellent
benefits package is available.
STARTING DATE: August 8, 2024 (Classes begin August 19, 2024)
