Music House, Johnson County's fastest-growing music school, is looking for a full-time Program Manager & Instructor.

Schedule:

30 hours per week consisting of two teaching days and three management days. Monday - Thursday hours: 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm on management days or 4:00 - 9:00 pm on teaching days. Friday hours: 1:00 - 7:00 pm on management days or 3:00 - 7:00 pm on teaching days.Occasional Saturday shifts.

Responsibilities:

Teaching

• Teach private lessons in a way that builds on the strengths and interests of the student.
• Lead group classes through the Music House curriculum.
• Communicate and interact with parents, fellow teaching faculty, and administrative staff.
• Track student attendance and maintain detailed teaching notes.
• Sign students up for and prepare them for group and individual performances.
• Create and/or follow lesson plans and teaching guides.

Client interactions

• Socialize with our students and parents.
• Greet new students, give tours, and contribute everything you can to making everyone feel seen and appreciated.
• Facilitate delicate client interactions
• Give Booster Lessons and helping with auditions

Teacher Support

• Check-in with teachers. Make sure teachers and subs are on time and have what they need for a great teaching day.
• Fill in for last-minute subbing situations as needed

Community Outreach & Sales

• Connect the outside world with our community by helping them truly understand our vision.
• Help new potential students and families discover that Music House is far and away their best option for deepening their connection to the world of music.
• Work with the Director of Outreach to continually improve our enrollment rate.

Supplies, Equipment, and Maintenance

• Manage, direct, and maintain records on the equipment necessary to carry out the daily school routine.
• Ensure the interior and exterior of the school is maintained to company standards.
• Be willing to roll up your sleeves and do the task at hand when necessary.

• Organized and able to set priorities as needed
• Confidence in problem-solving abilities while knowing when to consult a Director
• Able to handle conflict management while adhering to Music House policies

• Able to work efficiently with technology and workplace content management systems such as Asana
• Comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Musical training in the form of either a college degree or substantial professional experience.
• Previous teaching experience.
• At least 2 years prior stable work experience in a management position - REQUIRED.
• Sales/retail experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills (writing, speaking and listening).
• Computer literacy is a must.
• Experience with Google Apps (drive/docs, gmail, chrome), Microsoft Office suite, and Mac operating system a plus.

Compensation:

• First 6 months: $35,000 per year
• After 6 months: $37,000 - $43,000 per year based on performance.
