Instructor - Medicine teaches courses in the discipline area of medicine. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Medicine provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Medicine typically reports to a department head. May require a license to practice medicine. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Basic Function:
The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty is to teach one or more courses or components of the Belanger School of Nursing curriculum. In addition, adjunct faculty shares responsibility for assessing, planning, and evaluating one or more courses or components of the curriculum and shares responsibility program development and evaluation. Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with faculty, staff, students, hospital personnel and community agencies to ensure course and program effectiveness.
Requirements:
Licensure: Holds an unencumbered professional Registered Nursing license in New York State
Education: Master’s degree in nursing required. A degree specialty in nursing education preferred.
Experience: Two years of clinical nursing experience relevant to the instructional area and/or evidence of leadership behaviors is required.
Certification: Not required, candidates with a CNE certification are preferred
Responsibilities:
Salary Range: $50/hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
