    Description

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Under the general direction of a division director, supervises professional staff in the development, coordination, implementation and monitoring the administration of educational programs for local school districts, state and/or private educational agencies and provides consultative services and technical assistance.
    • Provide consultative services and technical assistance regarding curriculum, assessment and accountability issues in coordination and monitoring of Kentucky’s assessment and accountability programs.
    • Provide technical assistance to local school districts (especially district assessment coordinators), colleges/universities, and educational stakeholders and other organizations.
    • Develop and reviews communications to local educational agencies (LEA) and manages the review of vendor created or provided materials and processes.
    • Make presentations and conducts training/workshops for local school district personnel and stakeholders concerning state assessment and accountability.
    • Interpret and apply federal and state laws, rules, and regulations as they relate to the state assessment and accountability system.
    • Serve on the office-based leadership team as well as office representative on agency and other committees as assigned.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements
    EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in education or a related field.

    EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Six years of professional experience in education, vocational education, or a related field.

    Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

    Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Current Rank II or Rank I certification by the Department of Education or Education Professional Standards Board will substitute for the required educational requirement. Additional professional experience in the field of education will substitute for the educational requirement on a year for year basis.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
    Working Conditions
    Work is typically performed in an office or school setting. Travel may be required.
    Probationary Period
    This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
