Instructor - Law teaches courses in the discipline area of law. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Law provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Law typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Adjunct Instructor - Business Law - R0133029

    The responsibilities of this position include:
    • Teach business law courses within the Business Administration Department.
    • Courses the candidates may be required to teach include, but are not limited to: Introduction to Employment Law, Legal Environment, Business Law I, and Business Law II
    • Provide an excellent teaching experience to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies.
    • Develop syllabi and course materials that may be taught on-ground, online, or hybrid.
    • Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
    • Participate in appropriate professional development activities with an emphasis in business and management.
    • Assignments may be multi-campus with the possibility of day, evening and/or weekend classes.
    • Participate and enroll in canvas training provided by CSN e'learning department.

    Required Qualifications
    • Juris Doctor/JD degree in Law from an accredited American Bar Association(ABA) college/university law school or an LLM/ Master of Laws from a regionally accredited college/university by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Program (ACBSP). In addition, thereto master's degree in Business from a regionally accredited college/university by the Association to advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) with 3 years' work in business related fields AND/OR civil law.
    • Master's degree in Business Administration from a regionally accredited college/university by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) OR Master's degree in Business from a regionally accredited college/university by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) With 5 years' work experience in a related field.
    • Proficient experience teaching community college/undergraduate business AND/OR business law courses or alternatively, a minimum of 1-year part-time community college/undergraduate proficient teaching experience.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Juris Doctor degree in Law from an accredited (ABA) American Bar Association or LLM/Master of Laws from a regionally accredited college or university by Association Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
    • 3 years or more years of professional, business law, business-related work or civil law experience.
    • Teaching or work experience in canvas or a similar Learning Management System (LMS).
    • Demonstrated ability to incorporate and utilize a variety of teaching strategies.
    • Traditional, online, or hybrid instructional platform experience.


    Starting Salary Range

    Adjunct instructors receive $925 per credit hour.
