Instructor - History teaches courses in the discipline area of history. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - History provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - History typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Job Summary


    The College of Coastal Georgia Department of Social Sciences seeks qualified applicants for the part time applicant pool in the area of History. Applicants will be reviewed on an as-needed basis and hiring may occur up to the start date of a given semester.

    Responsibilities


    Responsibilities -
    The successful candidate will teach History courses contingent to the needs of the College. Essential duties include: maintaining office hours, preparing lesson plans, lectures, and other course materials such as quizzes and exams, completing required trainings, teaching at the Brunswick campus or Camden Center either face-to-face, hybrid, or online, and submission of final grades and attendance reports.

    Required Qualifications


    Educational Requirements
    • MA or PHD in History or related fields with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in History.

    Required Experience
    • Successful teaching experience
    • Evidence of professional development

    Preferred Qualifications


    Preferred Experience
    • Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level
    • Successful online teaching experience

    Proposed Salary


    $700 per credit hour for Masters prepared and $900 per credit for Doctorate prepared
