Instructor - Educational Assessment teaches courses in the discipline area of educational assessment, testing, and measurement. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Educational Assessment provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Educational Assessment typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. GENERAL JOB SUMMARY :
This is a part-time position ( hours per week) located on the Algona Campus. Primary responsibilities include test proctoring for both credit and non-credit students, assisting students enrolled in developmental education courses, assisting students enrolled in the high school equivalency programs, and occasional assistance with advising and registration tasks.
Organizational skills, multi-tasking, and an unwavering commitment to student and customer service are critical in this position.
Some evening and weekend work may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (% OF THE TIME) :

Proctor university and college exams.
Proctor Accuplacer placement exams.
Interpret and enter placement test scores in Ellucian.
Accurately answer questions related to college admittance, testing requirements, program course requirements or other services offered through the college or Success Center.
Maintain progress reports and student records / files.
Frequent (-%)
Administer CASAS exams.
Administer HISET official practice exams.
Complete orientation with students enrolled in the high school equivalency programs (HSED).
Tutor students in developmental math, writing, and student success courses.
Assist with peer tutoring program.
Occasional (-%)
courses.
Work collaboratively with Director of Academic Success on daily tasks or new projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
SPECIAL DEMANDS :
Sedentary to light work. Position mostly involves moving about the Success Center to individually assist students. Talking, hearing, viewing various types of close visual work, and repetitive motion, constantly (-%).
Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying and repetitive motion frequently (-%). Exerting up to pounds of force occasionally (-%).
Travel within the college’s service area may be required.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferred fields include education, English, or mathematics. Master’s Degree preferred.
