Instructor - Educational Assessment teaches courses in the discipline area of educational assessment, testing, and measurement. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Educational Assessment provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Educational Assessment typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Educational Support and Disability Services Coordinator

    The Educational Support and Disability Services Coordinator works with faculty, staff, students, and appropriate outside agencies to identify, employ, and evaluate appropriate resources and methods to assist students in addressing obstacles to academic success for students both in and outside of the classroom. Coordinates all services ensuring compliance with ADA and provides leadership and consultation in promoting access and equity for persons with disabilities. Coordinates activities surrounding the tutoring of students; including hiring, coaching, and monitoring tutors. Develop and implement assessment of tutoring and disability support services. Provides probationary advising services. Will also be responsible for coordinating tutorial and disability accommodation services. This position also provides test-proctoring and student advising services. This position is exempt regarding FLSA overtime provisions. This position is covered by the NSCPA negotiated agreement.

    Examples of Work Performed
    1. Coordinate provision of tutorial services through walk-in, distance, and group programming
    2. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate peer tutors in accordance with best practices, as identified by program accreditation guidelines
    3. Promote tutorial services to the student body and encourage faculty referrals
    4. Coordinate disability accommodation services
    5. Help students adapt to the culture of academia, understand academic expectations, and navigate college policies and procedures
    6. Assess student needs for academic support and refer to appropriate resources and/or personnel
    7. Assist campus retention efforts including probationary advising, Mapworks (early alert), and supporting at-risk students in identifying and addressing obstacles to their academic success.
    8. Disability test proctoring of standardized exams
    9. Document and assess program services
    10. Maintain and communicate the availability of computer-based tutorial programming
    11. Maintaining accurate payroll records and information for various reports is also required.
    12. Meet with International students and provide support and referrals to assist them in their transition.
    13. Provide a Fall and Spring International Student Orientation in collaboration with the Admissions Representative.
    14. Coordinate trips, information, and connections with off campus resources for International students.

    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree.

    Preferred Qualifications
    A master’s degree in counseling or education and experience working with tutorial and/or disability service programs are strongly preferred. A working knowledge of ADA compliance laws, best practices in higher education learning assistance programming, and theory associated with intrusive academic advising also strongly preferred. Familiarity with tutorial strategies, ability to provide programmatic leadership, and proficiency in verbal and written communication are preferred. Should have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively within a team environment and a commitment to student success as well as ability to maintain confidentiality.
