*Position will teach a few STEM classes and perform Eduational Technology duties remainder of time.
Position Purpose
The high school Educational Technology and STEM instructor works under the supervision of the Academic Dean and is responsible for meeting all scheduled classes and providing instruction in accordance with CECs academic philosophy, goals, and objectives.
Job Duties
- Upholds CECs beliefs found on the CEC website.
- Develops and administers Education Technology and STEM education curriculum consistent with CECs academic philosophy, goals, and objectives.
- Develops lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities to enhance learning and to demonstrate the application of course work to everyday life.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods accordingly.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student and small group learning by ensuring student conduct conforms with CECs Student and Family Handbook and CEC policies.
- Ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Organizes and maintains Infinite Campus (IC) for accurate and complete recordkeeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and daily attendance as required in CEC policies.
- Selects and requisitions appropriate textbooks; instructional aids, supplies, and equipment; and maintains inventory records.
- Collaborates with other CEC staff members and participates in staff meetings and professional development as requested by the Academic Dean.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and keeps informed of current developments in education.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Create positive relationships with high school/adjunct teachers and administrators based on current technology that CECI has to offer.
- Encourage professional growth and provide organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers.
- Instruct and support teachers with curriculum software products, and classroom/curriculum related technologies to support the CECI model
- Consult and provide "out of the box" solutions to complex staff problems
- Document and communicate issues reported in training by staff and escalate as appropriate
- Working with CTE partners to integrate actual technology usage in real world and bring back to our classrooms
- Teaching CTE IT pathway courses
- Build and Run CTE IT pathway internship
- Advisor for the CTE IT CTSO, CyberPatriots

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university applicable to the teaching assignment, OR
- Endorsement on a Colorado teaching license, OR
- 36 semester credit hours in the core subject area, OR
- Passing score on a State Board of Education approved content exam (currently the ETS Praxis Series).
