We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Instructors & Camp Counselors. As an Instructor & Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a fun and safe environment for campers to learn, grow, and have memorable experiences. This is a paid position that offers valuable experience in working with children and the opportunity to make a positive impact on their lives.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with campers during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Plan and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, sports, and other recreational activities
- Assist in organizing and implementing camp programs and special events
- Provide guidance and support to campers in developing social skills, teamwork, and self-confidence
- Monitor camper behavior and address any issues or conflicts that may arise
- Collaborate with other camp staff to create a positive and inclusive camp environment
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and camper progress
Skills:
- Experience or knowledge in special education, early childhood education, tutoring, babysitting, childhood development, sports coaching, theater, daycare, or related fields
- Ability to work effectively with children of various ages and backgrounds
- Strong communication skills to interact with campers, parents/guardians, and fellow staff members
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to provide positive reinforcement
- Excellent organizational skills to plan activities and manage time effectively
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle stressful situations with composure
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques
