Instructor - Drama teaches courses in the discipline area of drama. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Drama typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Position Summary:
Responsible for teaching a variety of training classes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Plan, organize and participate in recreation and leisure activities that promote the safety, well-being, and happiness of Marbridge residents. Work as a team with other instructors. Lead the campus recycling team and co-lead the Helping Hands (volunteer) class. Responsible for various elective classes that are subject to change each semester. Knowledge and experience with various sports a must as Special Olympic coaching is required. Ability to work early mornings, late evening and occasionally travel for Special Olympic events. Travel will include overnight stays requiring assisting residents with basic hygiene and supervising medication administration.
Marbridge has no testing or teaching to a test. No homework or grading papers! All classes are for the enjoyment of the residents and the goal is to challenge the residents and encourage them to try new things. Our training program is based on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences. We want our residents to LEARN, EXPERIENCE AND ACHIEVE!
Hours:
Hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 – 4:00pm. There will be opportunities for overtime if attending activities such as Texas Football games, Fiesta Texas, Sea World, annual Christmas Program, Basketball tournaments, and other Special Olympics competitions.

Must be able to work in various conditions, including outside during the Texas Summer heat. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand and walk for long periods of time, participate/hands on coach various sports. Normal range of hearing and vision required.
