At Mad Science we are having a BLAST! We pay you to have fun! Build and fly rockets, demonstrate lasers, explore the states of matter using dry ice, and help children create slime and other polymers. You will inspire the next generation of scientists through our innovative activities that show kids what science is really all about.
As a Mad Scientist you will lead students through an inquiry-based discovery method involving instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities and amazing take-home projects that will illustrate how science affects the world around us. Mad Science is the world's leading provider of fun science programs for elementary-aged children.
Work hands-on with classroom-sized groups of kids while getting them EXCITED about SCIENCE! You and the kids will work with slime, dry ice, rockets and more while you explore all the things that make science COOL! In CLUB programs you'll visit the same groups of kids for 60-90 minutes weekly for 4-12 weeks to present a new, cool topic.
Club programs happen between the hours of 2 and 6pm, Monday - Thursday. Club instructors need a minimum of 2 afternoons/week available for clubs, with a kit swap typically happening Thursday night or on Friday. We provide all your training and equipment and handle all the booking and scheduling from our office; all you do is go have fun with the kids.
Please note: Most instructors work between 2-4 programs/week ($100-$200/weekly). This should be considered SUPPLEMENTAL work and can work well for students, retirees, substitutes, and other schedules that allow for supplemental gig work (it is a W-2 position).
