At Mad Science we are having a BLAST! We pay you to have fun! Build and fly rockets, demonstrate lasers, explore the states of matter using dry ice, and help children create slime and other polymers. You will inspire the next generation of scientists through our innovative activities that show kids what science is really all about.
As a Mad Scientist you will lead students through an inquiry-based discovery method involving instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities and amazing take-home projects that will illustrate how science affects the world around us. Mad Science is the world's leading provider of fun science programs for elementary-aged children.
Work hands-on with classroom-sized groups of kids while getting them EXCITED about SCIENCE! You and the kids will work with slime, dry ice, rockets and more while you explore all the things that make science COOL! In SUMMER CAMP programs you'll visit the same groups of kids for 3 hours each day for one week to present a new, cool topic. WORKSHOPS will have you visiting classrooms during the school day for "in-class field trips". In all of these programs, you'll let the kids discover for themselves how FUN science is!
Camp season is between June 10th and August 23rd (do not need availability for every week). When no camps are available, we supplement your income with in-class field trips to centers across the triangle. We provide all your training and equipment and handle all the booking and scheduling from our office; all you do is go have fun with the kids!
We are currently looking for energetic individuals to join our growing team to conduct exciting science programs this summer. You do NOT need to be a certified teacher (though if you are starting pay is higher), nor do you need to be a science major. This is a GREAT job for teachers looking to spend their summer just having FUN with kids!
