Instructor - Chemistry teaches courses in the discipline area of chemistry. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Chemistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Chemistry typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Essential Job Functions and Requirements:
Work Schedule: Per contract and when school is in session
Educational Requirements: Instructors must have earned a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. They should have a major concentration of study in the content area courses taught the majority of the instructional year or, alternatively, earned 24 semester hours of credit in the content area. For courses taught less than half of the instructional year they must have 12 semester hours in the content area taught. In some circumstances, alternative training or experience may suffice.
