This is an open and continuous posting for Chemical Engineering Co-op Student positions at our Aurora, North Carolina Phosphate facility.

• This role is open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete.This position is not available for remote work.

• Work will be both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.Outside the office, standard work wear will consist of hard hats, safety boots, safety glasses and ear plugs, with other items as needed; these items will be provided

• Application deadline: 2 months prior to starting date.Applicants who express interest sooner will have the best chance of being matched with a position.

• Terms:
  • Spring 2024 - January 8to August 16
  • Fall 2024 - June 3 to December 13
  • Spring 2025 - January 6 - July 25

What you will do:

• Assist the site with various duties, including:
  • Project work
  • Advancing process related projects
  • Troubleshoot process problems
  • Inspecting chemical processing equipment

What you will bring:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors' degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent related program with a graduation date of August 2025 or later.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical skills
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
• Must be able to work at heights, outdoors, and around potentially hazardous chemicals
• Must be comfortable and physically capable of entering and working in a confined space
• Must be able to hear and understand audible alarms, changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communications
• Must be familiar with Microsoft's Office Suite
