As our Accounting Supervisor, you will supervise a team of four accounting professionals: an Accounts Payable Processor, a Payroll Administrator, a Staff Accountant, and a Senior Accountant. You will work on a wide range of the mine’s Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cost Reporting, Budgeting & Forecasting, Fixed Assets Accounting and Project Control functions. The Greens Creek Mine, located on Admiralty Island 18 miles south of Juneau, is an underground polymetallic mine operating since 1989, employing approximately 515 people. The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Established in 1891, Hecla has a rich history as a distinguished and respected precious metals producer. Here’s what you can expect in this role:

• You'll receive department-level training that not only covers job-specific tasks but also prioritizes safety protocols. Additionally, you will attend comprehensive MSHA training, ensuring you're equipped with essential safety knowledge before visiting our mine site located on Admiralty Island outside of Juneau.
• Your role will revolve around offering your technical expertise and guidance in various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• You'll work extensively on preparing monthly reports for submission to Hecla Corporate, ensuring reports are accurate and submitted on time.
• You will critically review our in-place accounting processes, aiming to optimize process design for efficiency and effectiveness.
• You'll facilitate collaboration with internal and external audit engagement teams, ensuring smooth implementation of remediation plans to address any identified issues.
• You'll regularly review and provide feedback and approval on cost reports, variance analysis, and other financial documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal control requirements.
• In this role, you'll not only contribute to the financial integrity of HGCMC but also play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of safety and teamwork.
