Description of Position:
The Business, Information Communication and Technology Department is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to support the growth of college courses in local high schools. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of academic expertise, industry experience, and a passion for guiding students towards mastery of fundamental concepts in accounting and business.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Adjunct Faculty duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules;
2. creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking;
3. evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grades student work;
4. meeting with students outside of class;
5. maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics;
6. maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas;
7. fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member;
8. maintaining accurate academic records;
9. performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience:
Masters in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration

OR

Bachelors in business with accounting emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with an accounting emphasis. Masters in business, business administration, business education, economics, taxation, finance or the equivalent

(NOTE: A bachelors degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, with a CPA license is an alternative qualification for this discipline.)

Understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, staff and faculty.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience teaching college content to high school students.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Practical experience working in accounting or business fields.
• Industry connections to enhance opportunities for student internships and networking.
• Knowledge of various teaching methodologies and the ability to adapt instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Familiarity with educational technology tools and learning management systems (LMS) to facilitate online instruction, manage course materials, and engage students in virtual environments.
• Dedication to student success and commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
