Instructional Technology Specialist supports faculty members utilizing information technology in support of teaching and learning. Develops computer training materials and assists in teaching how to set up and use computer applications and related technologies. Being an Instructional Technology Specialist may troubleshoot technical problems and train junior staff members. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Instructional Technology Specialist typically reports to a manager. The Instructional Technology Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Instructional Specialist - Technology
Purpose Statement:
The job of Instructional Specialist is done for the purpose/s of developing student success in the assigned academics (e.g. reading, writing, language, math, social studies, science) or skills by developing and/or enhancing district approved curriculum and teacher delivery; coordinating staff development activities; providing information on teacher effectiveness and progress; and serving as a resource to school personnel requiring assistance with curriculum, technology, and/or lesson models. Specific duties and responsibilities of this position focus upon supporting and assisting with development of arts programming in Rock Hill Schools as well as integrating instructional technology at schools with an arts emphasis.
This job reports to the Executive Directors of Elementary Education and Secondary Education.

Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting, 30% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed in varying atmospheric conditions.
Experience
Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired. Experience teaching an arts content area is required.
